Results from the competition One Night in Plovdiv

We want to thank the seventyfour participants for their interest in the photo competition, announced in “The Night of Museums and Galleries”- Plovdiv!

Members of the jury are: Georgi Lozanov, Nikola Lautliev, Boris Misirkov, Georgi Bogdanov, Krasimir Linkov, Vesselina Sarieva, determined the awarded participants.

Selected works of the participants from the competition will be displayed in an exhibition in the beginning of year 2008 at the Town’s Art Gallery - Plovdiv.

Awards:                    

The organisers of the Night of Museums and Galleries have the pleasure of announcing a photo competition for everyone who would like to preserve their favourite moments during the Night on film or digital media.

The competition’s theme is “A Night in Plovdiv”.

Entries will be accepted in the following two formats:

• prints of up to 20/30 cm, and 

• processed digital images recorded on a CD or forwarded on surver.

 The pictures can be made with a mechanical, digital or mobile phone camera.

Digital photographs should be in JPEG or TIFF format, RGB processed, and have a resolution large enough to allow printing the photograph in size 20/30 cm.

Each participant can submit up to 4 photographs.

Selected photographs from the competition will be shown at a special exhibition in Plovdiv’s City Gallery during the 2007/8 season.

The competition will be judged by a jury comprising of Georgi Lozanov (media expert and art critic), Nikola Lautliev (photographer), Vesselina Sarieva (gallery owner and Night of Museums and Galleries organiser), Krassimir Linkov (Director of City Gallery Plovdiv and Night of Museums and Galleries co-organiser) and photographers Boris Missirkov and Georgi Bogdanov.

There will be three awards.

The awards will be announced on 25 October 2000 at www.gallery-night.info and handed in at the opening of the competition’s exhibition. All participants will receive a certificate of participation.

The submitted photographs may be used in advertising materials and towards other non-commercial ends in future editions of the Night of Museums and Galleries. Participants retain rights on the photographs for uses unrelated to the Night of Museums and Galleries.

The Plovdiv Photography Centre may offer some of the participants in the competition future collaboration, depending on the artistic value of the entries.
