The project of Aleko Konstantinov Community Center focuses on the warm attitude and intellectual dialogue between Bulgaria and Italy. During the Night, the first Italian reading room in Bulgaria will be opened at the community center. It will be named after Asen Marchevski and will include 1200 volumes of fiction, reference, scientific and educational literature, magazines and multimedia in Italian. The program of the community center also includes the photographic exhibition My Italy – Fragments and Affiliations by Sonya Stankova. Literary salon with guests Antonietta Dal Bo Alfonsi – Italian writer, Gianfranco Artibani – Italian poet, artist and intellectual and Nadezhda Boneva – university professor, translator, poet and writer. We will be able to attend a meeting with Vladimir Balchev (historian) titled Italian Traces and a presentation of his book Plovdiv – The Other Shore of Europe. The author will trace the contribution of Italians, who have a remarkable impact on the development of Plovdiv after the Liberation. We will be able to see the exhibition Guardians of Time with unique photographs and objects of Italians who lived in Plovdiv after the Liberation and have left a bright trace in the culture of the city as well as a multimedia exhibition Italian Architects in Plovdiv - /1885 – 1920/ - multimedia that presents the Italian architects Pietro Montani, Prof. Montani Pernigoni and others, who designed iconic buildings for Plovdiv and the country.
