Homo Faber / Franky – an interactive video installation by Velizar Dimchev and Kaloyan Dimitrov.
The Latin phrase homo faber means literally Man the Maker (of instruments, of fate, of happiness), a labourer. It is often used by philosophers to denote the capacity of people to create their tools and environment. In anthropology, homo faber is the producing man. Franky is a typical representative of post-consumerist society. The video installation puts the viewer in Franky’s shoes with the help of an interactive video collage.
Homo Faber / Franky is part of the platform Open Call for Projects of the Open Arts Foundation.
