In the contemporary world digital dominates communication systems. Since art is a form of communication, also in the field of visual arts, Digital Art is gaining increasing importance. In addition to video and photography, new digital languages of art have emerged, generating the development of artistic expressions such as Software Art, 3D Art, GIF Art, Glitch Art, etc.. On the other hand, digital art has developed greater interdisciplinarity with other areas such as science, medicine, design, etc. It is undoubtedly an unstable area that brings new aesthetic dimensions and introduces the question of the immateriality of art, the ephemeral condition of usufruct due to the digital obsolescence and the necessary constant updating of media, which deserves study and reflection.
Born Digital Art in the field of Media Art, is an unavoidable reality in the contemporary art world that changes the conventional notion of art as heritage, launches new challenges to curatorial action and requires the revision and adaptation of presentation, preservation and documentation methods.
