What does community mean to us today? How does it change today, which are the old and which are the new communities, what is their meaning; and what are the opportunities that the community gives to the individual to achieve (freely) their place and self-determination among the other. Some of the works in the exhibition deal with the policies of the memory and the identity, others – with the failed projects for universal values, still others focus on the individual, their rights of choice and their relationships with the others, or engage in research of various cultural layers in time and how they form a certain entity, which we sometimes unquestionably take for obvious.
The exhibition COMMON GROUND is implemented with the support of the Polish Cultural Institute and the Czech Embassy in Bulgaria and the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Plovdiv and the Czech Cultural Institute
