Painting, Graphics and Objects by Mitsev & Rokanov – 70 anniversary to Dimitur Mitsev.

The exhibition will include an improvisation, discussion and direct contact with the public. The hall will be lightened by hundreds of candles, the pictures will be exposed in semi-darkness and every visitor with candlestick in hand will lighten the picture that they look at.

Who are here and why we are we? – exhibition in the museum with artefacts from the period between 1 000 000 B.C and present days.

This year’s winner of the BAZA Award Dimitar Shopov and the curator Vera Mlechevska present their new joint interdisciplinary project - a new method to restore a historical myth in the form of discussion with the special guests Valko Chobanov and Indi Kalisares.

The exhibition will be followed by a discussion as the idea of this discussion is to focus the visitors’ attention on the process of creating the myth. What are the real facts and artefacts and where do literal fiction, speculation, fantasy, the sense of fulfillment and determination, national dignity and proud begin.

“The autumn of Leonardo” examines Joseph Beuys and Leonardo da Vinci in their best years. The theme of the exhibition is “Convergation”. It is a continuation of the project “The puberty of Leonardo”. The works are connected with the architecture projects to the Mother Nature as in the same time the installations are in difficult to reach places – the first is in Antarctica and the second is in the orbit of the Earth.

The multidisciplinary project refers to the traces of post-industrial archeology. An accent is the large scale of the project - 120/270 cm, as well as its experimental techniques in mixing digital stamp, video and/or sound.

Screening “Grandmother Dana – the keeper of the Zelenikovo monastery” by Hristofor Balabanov.

The screening presents a series of interviews with socially active people who had an unusual life. The purpose is to keep the sense of reality of the passed period of communism and the present Transition. Genuine emotions and stories of the elder participants will bring the spirit of that time – on this way the young generation will be able to get to know the recent reality in Bulgaria through first-hand information.
