/screening/
Poland, the 1980s, the time of Solidarity. Oscar-winning Andrzej Wajda tells the story of the great changes hitting not only party rallies, meetings and the Round Table, but also one of the residences in the panel building neighbourhoods of Gdansk. Invading the leader’s privacy and even intimacy, the director tries to capture the phenomenon of the conversion of the ordinary, busy with his everyday life man into a charismatic leader. The film is a story about the husband, the father, the ordinary worker who released the dream of freedom hidden in the hearts of millions of people.
The screening is supported by the Polish Institute, Sofia.
