The Last Question
/performance/
The performance is based on the idea that the human is a set of cells and the society is set of human beings looking for and finding their own finitude. In this case we are interested not in the “last question“ a person would ask before they die, but in the answer they will receive. We aim at juxtaposing the expected with the unexpected, the interesting with the boring, but mostly at making two strangers face each other. Do we show sympathy for the Other or sneer at their last words forming a question? The structure of the very performance is the result of the mental preparation that the one opposite us has to accept our point of view as this is the last chance in which we talk. Either of us can ask our last question – whether a whim or a deliberated idea, whether specific or vague. The reply back will come from a person whom you do not know, and probably will never again see in your life. Will it be part of your idea of life and death? Will you gaze directly into the stranger’s eyes while sitting opposite them at the table, or will you bow your head in shame? The duration of the performance is an hour and a half and requires preliminary booking via the PLOVEDIV website.
*Only two people can be in the hall in the specified time. The complete performance will be uploaded to the PLOVEDIV YouTube channel.
