Topographies of Change is an online storytelling platform sharing stories of how people and places respond to the global challenges of the 21st century in constructive ways.
Plovdiv – The Relaxed City
Since centuries Plovdiv has been known to entertain the rather peculiar cultural attitude of being ‘relaxed’. The city has also seen deep transformations of its cultural and economic landscapes in the last decade. Particularly its cultural changes have created a buzz around it, followed by the sensation of being awarded with the title of the ECOC for 2019.
We wanted to find out if the world could learn something from the wisdom of a quaint 8000-year-old European city. Speaking with cultural agents, publishers, urban planners, writers and food entrepreneurs, we made some very interesting discoveries.

Workshop on printmaking fundamentals

Valeria Aleksandrova and Venera Smilenova will help you immerse yourselves in the world of printmaking in the pleasant and cosy Otsreshta.
We will introduce ourselves briefly with the history of the linocut technique and will make a demonstration how to print an image manually. Create your own piece and together we will print it using a printing press.
The workshop is joined by an exhibition by the artists Zapryanka Vasileva, Valeria Aleksandrova and Venera Smilenova, in which are shown new graphic works - mixed techniques.
