Toma Vishanov and His Circle of Fellow Artists in 18th Century Hungary – exhibition opening.
This traveling photo exhibition was first shown in the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Budapest in 2008. It reveals little known facts about the influence of Toma Vishanov – founder of the Bansko School of Icon Painting – on a group of fellow Hungarian icon painters. The exhibition, which in 2010 was also shown at the crypt of the Alexander Nevski Cathedral in Sofia, is organised by Svetla Moskova from the Plovdiv City Art Gallery and Elena Genova from the Institute for Arts Research.
